Beer is more than just a beverage; it is a dynamic cultural force with the power to build community and the ability to make change. The Chicago Brewseum celebrates this noble beverage by honoring the global history behind it, the brewers who craft it, the communities that thrive around it, and the culture that is beer today.
Join the Chicago Brewseum in raising a glass to beer’s dynamic role in making our world such an amazing place to live. There’s a lot to drink in.
The Chicago Brewseum will offer fascinating insights into how the beverage has always flowed through the city’s veins. In barrels and in bars, beer’s been building Chicago - and our country - from day one. We aim to share these local, regional, national and international stories.
Chicago has always played a vital role in the history of the American beer industry. The Chicago Brewseum will connect visitors with the history and culture of beer throughout time and place and focus on our vibrant national community.
While the museum fills heads with beer culture, the brewpub will fill glasses with world-class beers and host exciting events. It will be a natural extension of the cultural institution and both will be places where people come together to celebrate beer culture.
Our very first exhibition is being hosted at the Field Museum! You can experience it first hand from November 2, 2018 - January 5, 2020. The exhibition examines Chicago's 19th century urban development through the lens of its brewing industry and the immigrant community who built it.
A story about 19th Century Chicago needs a 21st Century community to make it happen. That's where you come in. Click the donate button below to support our mission to fund this exhibition. And signup for updates on how to get involved. The Chicago Brewseum is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit recognized by the IRS so your donation is tax-deductible. Cheers to that!
